The key aspiration of our project at Forest Oak is to connect a disjointed campus and establish a unifying language for ease of navigation. Comprised of multiple additions, the current campus is in need of more classrooms and an upgrade for their Media Center which resides in a temporary metal building. Our intervention revolves around a new Media Center which serves as a student hub and connecting gasket between the existing buildings and a new classroom wing. Custom millwork elements in this space allow an open experience while addressing access concerns. Renovations to the 1953 and 1956 built wings traverse grade change and manage narrow corridors as budget restrictions mandated the maintaining of existing structural elements. The interiors team collaborated with our Branded Environments studio to create a new school identity to foster pride and belonging.
