JINDAL school of

management PHASE III

richardson TX *ongoing

The third and final phase of a program that has been growing since 1975, the building aims to reflect the college's rise in reputation and the success of its graduates.  Centering a quiet courtyard in a fast-paced business environment encourages students and faculty to pause and remain grounded to place through visual connection and material selection.  The challenge of the program: to combine undergraduate and post-professional spaces under one roof without forcing them to cross paths; giving each their own identity.  Bright and collaborative for the undergraduates.  Warm and refined for the executives.  The project is in pursuit of LEED Gold certification and is on track to be completed in 2026.

Ground Floor Plan

Early Interior Concept Diagram

The primary material strategy revolves around metal, limestone, and wood. Giving each program block a material identity allows the spaces in between to become extensions of the outdoors. A continuous concrete terrazzo paver system unites the courtyard and common spaces. the exterior skin of limestone panels wraps into the student commons, again emphasizing this connection. Designed as a pavilion on the east side of the site, the multipurpose room has its own identity with its sawtooth metal roof and glassy exterior encasing a wooden jewel box for hosting events.
